Neil Boyd

MArch, BSc(Hons), ARB, RIBA, RIAS

Neil Boyd is a Chartered Architect and founder of Studio Boyd Architects. Since qualifying in 2013, he has gained experience working with some of the UK’s leading architectural practices, delivering projects across residential, cultural and commercial sectors.

After graduating from the University of Strathclyde and the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Neil spent six years with Glasgow practice Page\Park, where he became deputy of the residential team. Here he worked on award-winning housing projects, with a particular focus on the sensitive adaptation and conservation of historic listed buildings.

Neil later joined Stirling Prize-winning architects Stanton Williams, where he spent over four years working on a diverse range of projects, including the redevelopment of the Museum of London at Smithfield Market and a luxury residential development in Hampstead.

These experiences have shaped Neil’s belief that architecture should be thoughtful, enduring and connected to its surroundings. He has a particular interest in the relationship between the built and natural environment, and how carefully considered design can enhance everyday life.

Alongside practice, Neil is a Masters architectural design tutor at the University of Strathclyde, combining academic insight with practical knowledge of materials and construction. His wider experience includes community-led projects in Nepal, Thailand, California and the Isle of Tiree.

Outside of architecture, Neil enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the outdoors through running, hillwalking and photography.
