Dundee - Parkview Housing

Parkview is the sensitive conversion of a Scots Jacobean former industrial school into 29 private residential properties, centred around the existing courtyard and historic fabric of the original building. The project also includes 15 new build homes positioned alongside the former school, carefully designed to complement the scale, proportions and gable language of the historic architecture.

The new homes respond to the character of the existing building while taking advantage of the site's exceptional setting, with carefully framed views towards the River Tay through the established mature landscape. The project demonstrates a considered approach to heritage-led regeneration, combining the conservation of an important historic building with the creation of high-quality contemporary homes.

Completed in 2016, Parkview received several architectural awards and has been recognised for the quality of both its design and the experience of those now living within the development. Neil was the project architect throughout the full duration of the project while working at Page\Park Architects.

“The flat has exceeded expectations in terms of design, quality of fittings and particularly its outstanding vistas in all directions. It has genuinely earned a "wow" response from all our visitors. The development is set in beautifully landscaped grounds and has excellent transport links with key resources within the city.”
